NEWS FLASH: OCCUPY EUGENE LOSES FIFTH LOCATION
co-ordinators say they will schedule a meeting to plan a time for a meeting to decide how to respond
Helen dropped the bomb at the coordination committee tonight. She's doing a major structural remodel of the building starting May 1, and there can be no tenants for six months.
She's really looking forward to helping host the Oregon Occupy State Assembly February 25, and urges Occupiers to get their shit together!

ESSN: LANE CO NURSES' STRIKE STILL LOOMS Negotiations have broken down despite the two parties being very close. OE helped leaflet, nurses are grateful. Tell the commissioners to cough it up.

[i]NEWS FLASH: COORDINATION COMMITTEE MEETINGS MOVE TO THURSDAYS AT 7 PM [/i]Art will chair the next meeting, at OE Feb 9.

COM COM: If you have calendar or website postings, please use the events form you can find on the header of the home page of the Occupy Eugene website, under "FORMS". For the next two weeks, (nearly) all committee listservs are open for all posts. Jamil and Rob are the sole temporary list moderators.

VISIONING: Lots of things happening in February may make or break Occupy Eugene: Feb 6: Roy Keene talk at Cozmic Pizza; Feb 13: Free Trade Area of the Pacific, Harris Hall; Everybody needs to get up to speed on the important work Neighborhood Action Committee is doing on foreclosures. It's awesome. Plug in to help with Jean's brilliant plan to drill down on one bank with relentless pressure. They'll remember it started in Eugene.
February 25: Oregon Occupy State Assembly at OEV; February 26(?): Open House at OEV, with committees having tables to discuss their plans with folks who drop by as well as Occupiers here for Assembly, Jobs With Justice folks here for their state meeting, and the general public. Our chance to reach out and recruit folks to work with us on our projects, including: February 29: Occupy the Corporations, focusing on ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council).

OCCUPY THE LEGISLATURE: carpool leaves 7:30 or 8 AM Wednesday for Salem. Lobby your brains out. Sign up on FaceBook group page or crabgrass. Occupy Salem has secured a space for us right across the street from the Capitol. Some will return in time for Bradley Manning benefit, others will stay for evening meeting in Salem.

NONVIOLENCE RESOURCES WORKING GROUP is slowly developing the capacity to mediate disputes encountered by OE

GA MEETING SCHEDULE People requested to check in with their working groups, friends etc about how the scheduling and process of GAs is working. One suggestion for moving GAs to Wednesdays and Sundays. Another to pick either Tuesday or Saturday for once a week GAs with the other date kept in reserve, and for proposals to come to Coordination Committee first.

ROSS WANTED TO KNOW WHY THE COORDINATION COMMITTEE EXISTS and Jan and Karen answered that it's designed to avoid scheduling conflicts and promote networking.
