ComCom: Join David A & Jana for a meeting Tuesday March 19 at Grower's to share out vital ComCom tasks in tiny bites to avoid the chronic problem of overwork and burnout in ComCom. All you need do is take on one tiny task regarding press releases, list maintenance and website. David is now an administrator along with Jamil. He can get you on the lists. Contact David: DavidA@Riseup.net

BankBusters: Organizing a benefit showing of The Secret of Oz jointly with OE Monday April 8 at Cozmic. Explains how the bankers got us into the hole we're in. Raffle and discussion. Contact Fergus if you have a cool item to raffle or want to help: willamettedams@Q.com Following the movie, BankBusters is working on an event about a State Bank around May Day.

Occupy Medical: Everybody saw and loved the Occupy Medical Bus in Salem for the big opening day lobbying with more than 1000 people speaking for single payer health insurance. State Treasurer Ted Wheeler estimates single payer would save the state billions. Governor does not want to pass HB 2922 calling for single payer because he has another agenda for the state right now. HB 3260 would study the effects of single payer.

Lane Community Bill of Rights: is a new coalition working to pass initiatives in Lane County that challenge corporate rule. Groups are working on ordinances on No Coal, Chemical Trespass(banning aerial spray), banning or regulating GMOs, forbidding enforecement of the NDAA. We're gathering steam and want your input if you have an initiative measure to propose or just willing to make a serious commitment of time and energy. Contact Dave P: davevegchem@live.com

Fundraising: has been meeting sporadically. We need to get OE address out so people can donate. Will meet soon. Contact Art: apbollmann@gmail.com Rick Gold mentioned a fundraising technique they use in Missoula: they have piggy banks located at supportive businesses for people to put their change into.

Occupy Media Group: will hold the celebration of their new improved operation and second season Tuesday March 12 at 6 PM. Snacks and watch the first episode of their new series.

DISCUSSIONS:
Donation Policy: Jan said OE had established a policy early on that any events promoted as Occupy Eugene events needed to donate all proceeds to the OE general treasury rather than to the committees or affinity groups putting on the events. He raised this in the context of the upcoming April 8 joint fundraised with Bankbusters. Discussion made clear BankBusters is separate from OE, as it reaches outside Eugene, and has completely different process internally (based on Dynamic Consent), so the April 8 movie fundraiser at Cozmic can proceed as planned, splitting the take equally between OE and Bankbusters. General discussion of who OE is with regard to the different affiliated affinity groups springing up. To be continued.

Court Case: Lauren will file a motion to dismiss before the first trials start Tuesday. More trials on Wednesday are scheduled.

Funding Request: Fergus asked the GA for an advance for Bankbusters to cover printing costs for posters for the April 8 fundraising showing of Secret of Oz at Cozmic. Jan said the $50 request should go directly to the Finance Committee, which meets Sunday.

Grower's Market: Ruth reminded us we're lucky to have such a great meeting and affordable office space at Growers, and suggested we should plug in to the Grower's Market governing process to provide support to the organization. The annual meeting is April 26 at 6 PM. Tenants' meeting is held monthly. Read the Grower's Market newsletter, The Garbanzo Gazette here: http://www.growersmarket.net/banzo/gaze ... rbanzo.pdf
