Having a kitchen is a luxury that can be taken for granted, but not if you live unhoused. A hot meal is not easy to get when you have no place to cook it or money to have it cooked for you. Being able to cook food can also be much less expensive than buying prepared foods. So many advantages come with having a place to cook and it is with pleasure that residents use it.
The Community Kitchen at the Safe Spots are places where people can make food together, for everyone who wants it–or a single person can cook for themselves. It helps to build community for everyone to eat together and it helps the residents immensely, to be able to buy and make hot food at the camp.
