The SLEEPS protest camp returned to the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza after leaving the grass between the sidewalk and street by the Trude Kaufman house. The plaza was the place that was meant for free speech and it was visible to the most public because of its downtown location. While SLEEPS may appear to just be homeless people camping, it is in seeing the situation, that awareness begins. That was what worked about the effort and it can be argued otherwise, but on a personal basis, you cannot be educated about homelessness better than by an unhoused person exemplifying the problem and then being there available to talk to about it.
