COMMUNITY SUPPORTED SHELTERS (CSS) – Safe Spots During All Kinds of Weather

While Oregon’s climate is milder than some, the rain penetrates to the bone; particularly when it’s cold outside.  In recent years Eugene has even seen some pretty severe snow storms during Winter months and even into Spring.  Between the rain, wind, and snow; the winter in Eugene can be hard to live through as an unhoused person especially.  This part of the library is has images and videos of very harsh conditions people are enduring in the camps.  Please remember that it is in these areas that people can legally shelter themselves and in comparison to the alternative of not being allowed any kind of shelter at all, the camps are a very welcomed place to seek respite.
