Dan, president of the Opportunity Village Eugene nonprofit, talks to a large crowd at the ceremony on August 16, 2013, thanking all who have gotten the project this far. After the ceremony, people toured the site, at 111 N. Garfield in Eugene, on one acre of city-owned land. Then Thrivent Financial for Lutherans volunteers distributed pre-built housing panels around the site, to be assembled later.
