A lot of activists, housed and unhoused, showed up on August 16th, 2013, for the groundbreaking ceremony for Opportunity Village. This was the scene before the ceremony. The Village, at 111 N. Garfield in Eugene, Oregon, is being built by the nonprofit, Opportunity Village Eugene, on city land with donated funds. It will house up to 45 previously homeless people in very small houses.
